West's "Gone," from his 2005 sophomore album "Late Registration" made its chart debut at No. 18, eight years after its release, thanks to Marina Shifrin's kiss-off video, which has grabbed more than 15 million views on YouTube.
Shifrin posted a video of herself "interpretive dancing" to the appropriately-titled track, filming at 4:30 a.m. in various spots of the deserted office of the Taiwanese video production company where she worked. The message: I quit.
Now digital sales of the song, which was never released as a single, has soared from negligible levels to 9,000 this week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The song also hit No. 4 on the Streaming Songs chart, No. 6 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart and No. 4 on the Rap Songs chart.
At No. 18 on the Hot 100 -- Kanye has never debuted at the top of the Hot 100 list, as his highest entry, "Love Lockdown," started at No. 3 -- "Gone" represents West's fifth-highest beginning for his 59 charting entries.
"Gone" features Cam'ron and Consequence.
